SO why's it that in the US, you can watch RA shows before you can drink, but vice versa over here?
It seems Singapore is more concerned that RA shows corrupt the sensitive asian values, and the US probably thinks that seeing something isn't as evil as getting drunk, and then possibly going out to do evil things. (like, say, looting!)
It's like that economic moral analysis.... that activities which produce more negative effects for society as a whole should be restricted more than activities which are less harmful to the public. Which means that drugs should be more legal than alcohol, coz people shot up with cocaine just sit in a corner lolling and getting high while being very low are less dangerous than drunken people who proceed to get into street brawls and drive over kittens and stuff.
What does the difference in laws mean, after all? That the US doesn't think their 16 yr olds can control themselves well enough to not drink to excess, while they can be trusted not to get their morals (further) corrupted by seeing wanton killings and other wanton things? hmm.
oh and what gogo uses in kill bill? it's a kusari-gama sans the kama, damnit, not a ball and chain.
