gurgle

this blogger is upset because
1. SO MUCH WORK!!!!
1a. well ok i suppose part of it is due to the upcoming film festival and citylights - It's gonna be a big one, 50 ppl confirmed coming down, and we've been browned, too.
2. We couldn't secure a location so there's no more mambo night. boo.

However this has been offset by:

  1. Amazing International Food Festival with interesting food (well ok i gravitated to the chinese food again because i just happened to randomly pick the side of the hall with the chinese food in it)

  2. Astounding Cleanup after IFF (yes it's true, cleanups can be fun too)

  3. Two rather exciting and super double plus fun snow fights

  4. Nice Jap dinner [insert picture] [that's right, imagine one.]

  5. Feeling a sense of accomplishment from my classes, i now know CSS and XHTML! Although of course i guess i should be more interested in the progress of the classes which are actually counted towards my major.

  6. The sense of goodwill and fellowship i'm feeling for my group of friends here, you guys just make this whole thing so much more fun.

and this ordered list thingie is just too cumbersome. Await a new CSS-friendly cross-platform multibrowser-compatible page....... when i'm freer.

for Royston Tan's 15
which will be screened at our Singaporean Film Festival titled Tales from a little red dot. It will be followed by a nice dinner and a party with mambo music. Remember now, Royston Tan will be in Chicago, flown over by Samsu, and we'll be screening the uncut version of 15. Cool, no?

Search for intelligent life

Are you surprised how little of a life you need to survive? Of course you are.

In other news the count is increased by 2 gloves. Then it stopped snowing and was a very balmy +17 degrees yesterday (-17 tonight with windchill) so no more sightings.

5 Things you wish for

1. That you figured out earlier that milo made with Aquafina (tm) water tastes better.
2. For people to not put exposed food in the fridge, especially ones which make their olfactory presence felt. Yes, felt.
3. That people would actually clean used bowls with food in them within 2 months.
4. That the owner of the box of microwaved thingies taking up prime land on top of the fridge would finish that last piece, or throw the damn box away.
5. That every day would be as beautiful as this one, just less cold.

In other news, i shall start keeping a log of the types and numbers of abandoned winterwear i spot while walking around campus: the count for today is 2 x gloves.

So, why DO you feel warmer after eating? Do you feel warmer after eating? And no it's not coz the food is warm.

White

It's finally christmas.

Snow is cold. It's a magical thing to see entire pristine fields of snow. It's slightly worrying to see the path disappearing slowly and knowing that it might be hard to tell if not for the people walking on it. It's a bad thing when it gets down your neck. And while it may sometimes look a bit like foam, running your hands through it is just a very bad idea.

Also, people with bigger hands and bigger gloves seem to somehow be able to pack snowballs infinitely faster.

I await the morrow.

Aside:
I'm much better now, thanks. =) I've put it down to the problem of the dryness of flying. Just plaine air-sickness, i figure.

Travel Travails

1. The sun sets at 4 in Japan
2. Airports are nice places to see sunsets because they're so flat and expansive
3. Japan's airport is expensive
4. But the soba and such taste just the same as singapore's, albeit with more MSG.
5. I still can't believe they can have jap food fast food and serve the same stuff that singapore would, only in 3 minutes instead of 20.
6. Reminder to self: bring clarinase on board plane next time, failing which, bring more than 2 packets of tissue.
7. Chicago isn't snowy, it's rainy, i don't know if that's good or bad.
